The devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus begins on the night of the Last Supper when John placed his head on the breast of Jesus, on His heart; the Heart of Jesus is alive and it is found in the Eucharist, instituted at that very same Last Supper.

In today’s world, man finds himself indifferent toward God and devoid of faith. His fervor for God has gone. Man, who is full of pride and lacking true charity toward God and neighbor, is introduced to God’s infinite love through devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Jesus shows us a heart that burns like a furnace with love for each one of us, offering us the grace needed to enkindle our hearts with love and reanimate our faith.

When you have a devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus you also have a devotion to His Real Presence in the Eucharist. The Sacred Heart of Jesus is the actual flesh of Jesus, beating in His human Body since His Incarnation; it’s the same Heart that loved every soul Jesus touched on earth. This Heart was also pierced for our transgressions and bled to the last drop on Mount Calvary. This Heart is now glorified in Heaven, but it’s also with us until the end of the age in the Blessed Sacrament, and when we come to Him and receive Him, it dwells within us, making us temples of the Holy Spirit.

The date of the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus depends on date of Easter each year; the earliest possible date is May 29 and the latest possible date is July 2.
