Welcome to our category on catechesis. Here we are hosting a special series of prayerful meditations that also teach the Catholic faith in a more in-depth way. We are using the Divine Praises prayer, originally written by Fr. Luigi Felici in the 18th Century, as our guide to each of the posts in this category.
The Divine Praises prayer is prayed to make reparation for the irreverence and blasphemies committed against God and the Church by people, either through ignorance or deliberately. This series creates a 15 minute meditation for each line of the prayer that contemplates the mystery of our faith and explains it in detail using the Catechism, excerpts from Scripture, and historical writings of the Church Fathers in a prayerful context. These meditations are intended for use while praying before the Blessed Sacrament but can be prayed anywhere.
