The following ten Father Amorth prayers for deliverance from evil may be prayed by the faithful for spiritual protection. If you are struggling with evil influences in your life and you believe you are in need of deliverance, it is important for you to understand that these Father Amorth prayers are not the best way to overcome evil; the best way to overcome evil is through repentance, learning how to pray to God, use of the sacraments of the Church, growth in virtue, and regular meditation on the word of God.
Father Amorth always taught that the first and most important step in deliverance from evil is a sacramental confession. We can understand the power in this sacrament through the words of Jesus in John 20:23. In this verse Jesus delegates the authority to forgive sins to His Apostles. This authority is transferred to priests since the death of the Apostles in what we call Apostolic succession. This means that priests have a divine authority given by Christ to forgive sins or retain them (Matthew 16:19 and Matthew 18:18).
Receiving a Blessing or an Absolution
When might a sin be retained? This would be a habitual sin a person will not stop committing even though the sinner knows it is wrong. In a case such as this, the priest will give a blessing. Until a sinner can repent fully, he is bound by his sins and unable to overcome evil in his life.
Full repentance means a resolution to never commit the sin again. There has to be intent to amend your life. We also see it referenced in James 5:16. This sacrament is ‘directly focused on snatching souls from Satan’. This is because once you have confessed your sin to a priest you are no longer under the dominion of Satan.
If you make a confession and then find yourself giving into the temptation again, do not despair. Go back to confession and confess the sin; make a firm resolution and remove any near occasion of sin in your life. This means throwing away the things that cause you to sin, and avoiding people, places, and things that lead you toward evil.
Daily Eucharist
Father Amorth also suggests regular reception of the Eucharist at Mass. Another wonderful step toward liberation is time in Eucharistic adoration.
After these efforts the soul should also spend adequate time praying Biblical and liturgical prayers. These are prayers such as the Psalms and the canticles of the Bible, the Creed, and the Gloria. Next, a soul should pray the Rosary.

Finally, after all these spiritual practices have become daily prayer habits, the following 10 prayers are suggested as efficacious prayers of deliverance and protection from evil for those who are under spiritual attack and are working on resolutions to amend their lives. You came to heal our wounded and troubled hearts. I beg You to heal the torments that cause anxiety in my heart; I beg You, in a particular way, to heal all who are the cause of sin. I beg You to come into my life and heal me of the psychological harms that struck me in my early years and from the injuries that they caused through my life.
Lord Jesus, You know my burdens. I lay them all on Your Good Shepherd’s Heart. I beseech You – by the merits of the great, open wound in Your heart-to heal the small wounds that are in mine. Heal the pain of my memories, so that nothing that has happened to me will cause me to remain in pain and anguish, filled with anxiety.

You are the salvation of those who turn to You.
We beseech You to make powerless, banish, and drive out every diabolic power, presence, and machination; every evil influence, malefice, or evil eye and all evil actions aimed against Your servant (name).
Where there is envy and malice, give us an abundance of goodness, endurance, victory, and charity. Asking everyone to include me in your prayer list. I’ve been attacked by demonic attacks, evil spells or curses and witchcraft and occult activity. We will lift you up in prayer! God has power over evil spirits and can deliver you from this oppression. Do you know a priest that can help you with a general confession and to get your home blessed? This has tremendous power over evil. If you have holy water, blessed salt, or a sacramental you can wear this will also help you, especially at night. God will deliver you from evil. Trust in Him. Demons are creatures that have no power over you when you are in a state of sanctifying grace. I will pray a Divine Mercy prayer for you today.

Pray for me and my family, we have been under all some sort of curses and spells for these last 60 yrs. Every year we are attacked in all sorts of ways, if not illness, it’s major financial oppression, or unexplained humiliations, or unexplained insults, or horrible sexual temptations. Donna, I have been praying for some time about this very condition that many who visit this website, like yourself, suffer from. I have been asking the Holy Spirit to guide me in a response to this suffering. Know that you are not alone. I am praying for you and all other prayer requests that are posted on this website, and having Masses said for them as well. Know that nothing we experience in this life is beyond the permissive will of God, and sometimes, dare I even suggest that MOST times, demonic oppression is permitted by God as a means of sanctifying us. Praise God that these ‘cat’ spirits brought you home to the Church and back to the sacraments. The fact that they have calmed down is evidence that God is with you and as you grow in virtue and holiness, they will likely diminish altogether. Donna, I want to suggest one thing to you, because you mentioned you led a very sinful life and that you are going to confession. If you have not made a general confession since you returned to the Church, it may be something that you need. But I also want to tell you that if you have made a general confession and you find yourself despairing over past sins that you’ve already confessed, this is a lack of confidence in God. You are redeemed and forgiven and once you have confessed those sins they are forgotten and you are made clean. Any thoughts of despair over past sins or not being truly forgiven are not from God at this point, and you need to pray against them. Try praying either the rosary or the Divine Mercy at night before you sleep, and if you’ve never had your house blessed, ask at your parish for the opportunity. Consecrate yourself and your home to God and trust that He will deliver you from these evil spirits in His perfect timing. May God continue to bless you.
I started praying the Rosary every night before bed, bless my bed everynight, say out loud deliverance prayers, read the Bible every night at bed and the demonic cat spirits have really calmed down. Hello, I am going through the same thing! I thought it was a spirit cat! I got my iPhones camera, and started taking random pictures. I got pictures of this so called cat. I have one picture of it sitting on the shelf. It’s a black blurry ball. I have a put of it coming out of my tv ! I got a close up picture of it. This cat thing was not a cat, but resembled one. I thought it was a spirit cat! I got cat toys for it, but it wasn’t interested. One night I took a picture of it, and it turned into a red ball, a firey red ball. I enlarged the picture and inside it was a little man with pointy ears and an angry face! I was horrified! I began to record knocks and voices in my room, I learned from an exorcist priest, that I was dealing with the demonic world. I began to have a vision one night, of a tall man , wearing jeans, with a sculpted chest! But I couldn’t look at its head , until it backed up, his head was like echoplasam, constantly changing.. this entity played with my hair in the bathroom and while sleeping! It breathed on me too! I got my bible out and started praying. I went to a exorcist priest, who prayed over me for deliverance. I became more holy. The incidences calmed down. It’s still here, making noises in the house. It has been a year now, and I pray hours at night. I go to church as much as possible, I have completed all the sacraments. (Catholic) and I’m in close contact with the exorcist priest. I hope someday soon, that I will be delivered. It is up to God. It’s important to confess and forgive anyone that you hurt. It’s important not to sin at all( very difficult) otherwise, it will never leave. It’s important to have a loving trustful relationship with God.

Dear James, please do not be afraid. I am including you in my prayers. If you are in a state of sanctifying grace the Holy Spirit will give you power to overcome any evil. Have faith in this. Evil is the absence of the good and so it has no power over God. It can tempt you only as far as God allows. The evil you are battling is making you pray more and be stronger in your faith. This is a good that is coming from this evil. Take heart. Be courageous and stay the course. Just turn to the Lord with faith and trust, praying for the souls of the lost and for wisdom. The evil spirits can tempt us in our imagination, so do not take special meaning from the dreams unless the Lord gives you consolations in Scripture, during prayer in front of the Blessed Sacrament, and through holy people in your life who inadvertantly confirm what you believe the Holy Spirit is saying to your heart. Focus on Christ. Keep your gaze on the Lord and pray frequently while in the apartment, blessing it and calling upon the Lord to dwell there. If your hunch that evil is there is true, your prayers and your holiness are enough to make them flee. When we bring Jesus into our home the devil flees. Pray for the other apartment neighbors and ask for God to bless them and help them draw closer to him. Offer prayers for the last person who lived in your apartment. Ask for Divine Protection for them and for your landowner. Fear is not of God. Distractions will make you want to quit praying and the devil knows this. So pray through the distractions, asking the Virgin Mother to help you pray. Also, call upon St. Jude, as he is the saint of the impossible. Ask him to intercede for you and pray for you in your situation. Offer up your sickness for lost souls, for the dead in purgatory. Pray for wisdom, asking God why he has allowed you to know about the invisible things around you. God may be asking you to pray for someone who needs it and perhaps has no one else to intercede.

I come from a Catholic family and always practiced my faith. My husband was Catholic but now he ridicules me for my beliefs. We are both elderly with major health issues. Only God knows the heart and what a soul needs in order to desire repentance and reconciliation or to return to the faith. Trust that God will answer your prayers.
Mary, have you asked your parish to bring you communion at home? Bring Jesus into your home and the devil will flee. Offer your sufferings for your husband every day. I am asking for help! I don’t know if I will be able to write all this. On May 17, 2024, I had a meeting with one person, after this meeting on the 20th-27th I didn’t sleep at all, for almost a week. I started to feel that someone was around me. I couldn’t sleep at night and I said, eat these fruits but let me sleep, at least for 1 hour. I fell asleep immediately and got up after 1 hour. In your meeting on May 17, did you do something that opened the door for demons, such as an occult practice like seeking the advice of a psychic, using tarot cards, or practicing astrology, etc? Did the person pray over you, lay hands on you, or cause you to commit a sin? (I ask this not asking for a response, but to help you consider how the door may have opened to the demonic). Sometimes we open the door to evil and can give demons legal right to torment us by seeking secret occult knowledge.
Are the pastors who are helping you priests of the Catholic Church? Are you able to make a sacramental confession in a Catholic Church and receive the Eucharist? Jesus wants to deliver you from evil, Maris. Do not be afraid. You must do your part, and fully repent and turn to God in obedience and worship him in truth. When we begin to live a life of virtue and grace the demons flee and no longer torment us. In some cases a person may be recommended to see an exorcist. Let us put your deliverance in the mercy of God.

Maris, Jesus loves you deeply. Call upon the Holy Name of Jesus when you are being tormented. There is a very short and beautiful prayer to Jesus that is ancient called the Jesus Prayer. Memorize it and pray it throughout the day. Turn toward your Savior who will deliver you.

Maris, Jesus is present to you. When the demons try to lie to you just turn your heart and mind to Jesus and be present to him. You also have to do the hard work of amending your life, which means getting rid of any attachment to evil so that you can be fully delivered from it. Love is an act of the will. We show God our love and fidelity by doing things out of love for him. He will heal you. The Catholic Priest who is an exorcist has apostolic succession and this is why you were referred by the Lutheran pastor. You are a hard case, but nothing is impossible for God! The Catholic priest has higher authority over demons because he was ordained by a bishop who was ordained by a bishop all the way back to the disciples of Christ (see John 17, Matthew 16:19, and Matthew 18:18). People who pray over others in deliverance ministry who are not apostolic can cause the transfer of a spirit from one body to another; or from one object to another; or from one place to another because they do not have the power to bind and cast out spirits as an ordained Catholic priest or Orthodox priest with apostolic succession would have. The intercession of the Virgin Mary is very powerful. If you wear the medal also ask her to pray for you. That medal is attached to a devotion and it is very efficacious against demonic affliction when you wear it and pray every day. Just like cursed objects in occult practices are used for evil purposes, blessed objects consecrated to God can be used to deter evil spirits, as you are indicating you have chosen to repent and amend your life and are desiring God over evil. It is an outward sign of an interior change happening in your heart to love and obey and serve God. Okay?
