Prayer for Healing of My Body, Mind, and Soul

Need a prayer for “healing of my body, mind, and soul”? Pray this short prayer for healing to Jesus and trust in His mercy, but before praying, let’s meditate on forgiveness.

Thus the Lord's words on forgiveness, the love that loves to the end, become a living reality. The parable of the merciless servant, which crowns the Lord's teaching on ecclesial communion, ends with these words: "So also my heavenly Father will do to every one of you, if you do not forgive your brother from your heart." It is there, in fact, "in the depths of the heart," that everything is bound and loosed. It is not in our power not to feel or to forget an offense; but the heart that offers itself to the Holy Spirit turns injury into compassion and purifies the memory in transforming the hurt into intercession.

Ask Jesus to Heal After Forgiving Others

Are you asking Jesus to heal a wound? If your wound is the result of a transgression against you, have you forgiven the person that harmed you?

Often the sickness in our body, mind, and soul is due to unforgiveness.

Has someone sinned against you, causing you to hold on to resentments? These resentments can ultimately affect your health and well-being.

Why must we forgive those who abuse us and have hurt us?

It’s Biblical.

We forgive the hurt because we ourselves need the same mercy that we have been granted by God. A prayer for healing is only effective if the mercy we seek is equal to the mercy we give. After forgiving others, we can say a prayer for healing with confidence in the Lord.

If we are asking Jesus to heal us and we are saying a prayer for healing of body, mind, and soul, we must also forgive because it is the mechanism through which we are healed. There is a tremendous power in forgiving someone who has done evil against us, especially an evil that is unjust and unwarranted.

We live in a world that cannot love, amongst a cancel culture that divides and separates us from each other based on various factors. We are conditioned to judge rather than love. But the Lord commands us to be radical with our love. If we are asking Jesus to heal us then we must become more like Jesus to be healed.

How do I forgive before My Prayer for Healing?

Ask Jesus to give you the grace to do it. Then surrender the pain over to Him and allow Him to replace it with His love.  Don’t focus on the negative emotions or the bad memories. Just surrender it all to Jesus. Be real with Him and raw. He knows your thoughts anyway and knows your heart with all its limitations. Just give Him the pain and let Him comfort you and help you forgive.

When your soul is healed of its hurts, your mind will begin to change. The evil thoughts will eventually no longer take up residence in your mind because they will no longer sicken your heart with unforgiveness.  Bodily healing often takes place after such forgiveness happens.

We are made in the image and likeness of God. We need to do as He says and forgive. We need to surrender ourselves to Him so that He can change our hearts and minds and help us have pure hearts. We have to forgive those who have not repented and release the debt.

In a Prayer for Healing How Many Times do I Forgive?

Let us look to the Gospel and hear what Jesus teaches on forgiveness.

Then Peter approaching asked him, “Lord, if my brother sins against me, how often must I forgive him? As many as seven times?”

Jesus answered, “I say to you, not seven times but seventy-seven times. That is why the kingdom of heaven may be likened to a king who decided to settle accounts with his servants. When he began the accounting, a debtor was brought before him who owed him a huge amount. Since he had no way of paying it back, his master ordered him to be sold, along with his wife, his children, and all his property, in payment of the debt. At that, the servant fell down, did him homage, and said, ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay you back in full.’ Moved with compassion the master of that servant let him go and forgave him the loan. When that servant had left, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a much smaller amount. He seized him and started to choke him, demanding, ‘Pay back what you owe.’ Falling to his knees, his fellow servant begged him, ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay you back.’ But he refused. Instead, he had him put in prison until he paid back the debt. Now when his fellow servants saw what had happened, they were deeply disturbed, and went to their master and reported the whole affair. His master summoned him and said to him, ‘You wicked servant! I forgave you your entire debt because you begged me to. Should you not have had pity on your fellow servant, as I had pity on you?’ Then in anger his master handed him over to the torturers until he should pay back the whole debt. So will my heavenly Father do to you, unless each of you forgives his brother from his heart.”

Open Your Heart

Take a brief few moments to pray to the Lord from your heart about some people that you have not yet forgiven. If the transgression against you invokes bad emotional feelings and brings back bad memories, just give them to Jesus right now. No words are needed. He knows. He KNOWS.

Thank You, Jesus. Give me the grace to forgive from Your infinitely Good and Loving Heart. Thank you for the grace to forgive.

AMEN.

Now let’s petition the Lord with a prayer for healing.

Asking Jesus to Heal Us
with this Prayer for Healing

Lord Jesus Christ,

Look upon me with eyes of mercy. May Your healing spirit rest upon me. It is through Your power that I was created. Since You created me from nothing, You can certainly recreate me. Fill me with the healing power of Your spirit. May Your life giving power flow into every cell of my body and into the depths of my soul. Mend what is broke. Cast out anything that should not be within me. Rebuild my brokenness. Restore my strength for service in Your Kingdom.

You invite all who are burdened to come to You. Allow Your healing hand to heal me. Touch my soul with compassion for others. Touch my heart with Your courage and infinite love for all. Touch my mind with Your wisdom, that my mouth may proclaim Your praise. Teach me to reach out to You in my need, and help me to lead others to You by my example. Most loving healing heart of Jesus, bring me health in body and spirit that I may serve You with all my strength.

Amen.

    1. Dear Julius, Jesus tells us that He has overcome the world. When we put our faith in him and we obey his word he promises to deliver us from evil. In Hebrews Chapter 6 he explains the difference between the blessing and the curse. Your family can overcome drunkenness with the grace of God. Renounce it and then pray for the grace to overcome it, and God will hear your prayers. Make little sacrifices every day and pray for all your family members who are afflicted. Pray blessings over them, especially if they are your children. God is merciful and he hears the prayers that come from the depths of our hearts. If you’d like to join our prayer community, visit: I Am Jesus Prayer Community. Know that I will be praying for you. Heavenly Father, we lift up Julius’ family and we ask for your mercy. Please give Julius all the necessary knowledge and understanding needed to pray with and for all family members afflicted with drunkenness so that they may be delivered in Jesus’ name and by the power of His Precious Blood. We know that Jesus came to save us and deliver us from all evil. Give Julius the grace to overcome and the virtue needed to lead his family toward holiness. Amen.

  1. I need true prayer for resurrection life for a family member, physical and spiritual healing in the mind and soul, help from wicked oppression, demons, devil like shehe’s in my family, deliverance from people, from family members who are refusing to turn from witchcraft and sin, stupid ancestry generational- from which our family knows nothing about, surveillance in spying on our family and wickedly saying false information, spreading lies about us in Jesus name, amen.
