Prayers lift up our hearts to God and open them to receive His grace. For thousands of years, throughout the history of the Church and all of Biblical history, man always falls into slavery and sin when he turns from God and he finds redemption and deliverance from sin through prayer. Faith comes from knowing God and we come to know Him through prayer. By spending time with Jesus in prayer we contemplate His love and salvation message. This transforms our hearts over time.
The adoration chapel is where Jesus resides, with us, all days, in the consecrated Host, given to us by His priests, in what we call the Blessed Sacrament. He is with us always. This is His Real Presence in the world, and when the wounded, lost, suffering, and sinful people come to this place and kneel before Him, He makes his presence known to them. He is the King of Kings of the heavenly hosts, and He gives a grace within the walls of the adoration chapel that cannot be felt anywhere else in the world except when we partake of holy Communion.
Adoration is about uniting with Christ in His suffering. Your suffering, your loneliness, your hunger, your wounds – they are most efficacious when they are united with Christ’s suffering. Offer them up for the love of Jesus Christ. Ask Him to change your heart and make it like His own Sacred Heart.
