Don't know how to pray to God and wondering if God is Real, Learn how to pray to God

Prayer doesn’t require the right words or a perfect heart—just a willingness to begin. Start here to learn what prayer is, discover a few simple ways to pray, and find the encouragement to take your first steps toward God. Whether you feel unworthy, distracted, or entirely unsure where to begin, God welcomes a humble soul with open arms.

If God is a stranger to you, please do not be afraid to begin. I was once where you are, and I understand how it feels to desire God and yet not know how to reach Him. I invite you to read my Catholic conversion and healing testimony.

Tending to the Lord in Daily Life

Prayer doesn’t end when you close your Bible or leave the chapel. Jesus wants your attention throughout the day, not just during set times of prayer. The more you practice noticing Him—in a conversation, a decision, a quiet moment—the more you’ll recognize that He’s already present in every aspect of your life.

When you are struggling or in need, seek Him. He will come to you.

I invite you to pray this prayer:

“Jesus, open my heart to know your divine will for me right now in this moment. Speak to my heart so that I can live in spirit with You. Thank you Jesus, Amen.”

Discover Real Stories of Answered Prayer

Wondering what a real answer to prayer actually looks like? These are stories from real people who grew a habit of prayer and adoration and found their lives quietly, sometimes dramatically, changed — a burden lifted, a fear healed, a moment of peace that arrived exactly when it was needed. Read a few of these testimonies for a glimpse of where this road can lead.

What this can look like:

“My Catholic conversion story isn’t a tale of personal perfection, but a testimony to a Savior who chases after us, heals us, and invites us to rest in His presence.”

“Two days ago I felt helpless and hopeless, but now I feel that Jesus answered my prayer. He has enlightened my heart and mind, and given me hope and peace.” (Shared by a member of our community)

“I said, do you always carry a rosary of the seven sorrows? Are you praying a novena too? The person laughed again. Said no. Said, ‘I was nudged to put it in my pocket as I was walking out the door on the way to Mass.'”

“After the first three Masses an amazing miracle happened to me. I forgot the evil words spoken against me. I know it was by the grace of God because without this gracious gift of mercy I could not forgive.”

When You need Prayers Offline

Sometimes we need to leave our phones at home. We get that. You think that you’ve turned off all distractions and you go into the chapel to pray, and you are still getting notifications. One loud notification throws everyone in the room off. This is why we offer PDF downloads for a number of our prayers. We even have free prayer books that you can download and have printed. Check out our category of prayers with PDF downloads here

You're Not Alone in This

Learning to pray is rarely a straight line—some days it will feel natural, and other days it won’t. If you ever find yourself stuck, discouraged, or just want someone to reach out to about your prayer life, I’d love to hear from you. Feel free to reach out by email any time. Jesus promised, “For where two or three are gathered in my name, there I am in the midst of them” (Matthew 18:20). This community exists because when we pray together, God’s grace flows through us.
