Divine transformation of the soul is a great gift from God. Saint Faustina suffered greatly in her short 33 years before she succumbed to tuberculosis. She also suffered emotionally because the other nuns in her convent did not understand her and many did not have mercy on her. She suffered spiritually as well, and wrote about her ‘Dark Night of the Soul’. All this suffering caused St. Faustina Kowalska to cling to Christ, and this led to her divine transformation.
“Suffering is a great grace; through suffering the soul becomes like the Savior; in suffering love becomes crystallized; the greater the suffering, the purer the love.”
Saint Faustina Kowalska
Divine Transformation Through Saint Faustina's Diary
Saint Faustina Kowalska was graced with many extraordinary spiritual gifts. She had visions of Jesus and Mary. She was not highly educated and so when Jesus told her to spread the devotion of Divine Mercy throughout the world, Faustina did not know what to do. During this three year period Saint Faustina had many self doubts and much suffering.
Her obedience to Jesus resulted in a beautiful diary that has gifted the world with an intimate understanding about the nature of God and His intimate love. Saint Faustina’s locutions inspire us to become more holy and help us to know and understand Jesus on a deeper level.

A Prayer for Divine Transformation from Within
by Saint Faustina Kowalska
O Most Holy Trinity!
I want to be completely transformed into Your mercy
and to be Your living reflection, O Lord.
Help me, O Lord, that my eyes may be merciful,
so that I may never suspect or judge from appearances,
but look for what is beautiful in my neighbor’s souls
and come to their rescue.
Help me, that my ears may be merciful,
so that I may give heed to my neighbors’ needs
and not be indifferent to their pains and moanings.
Help me, O Lord, that my tongue may be merciful,
so that I should never speak negatively of my neighbor,
but have a word of comfort and forgiveness for all.
Help me, O Lord, that my hands may be merciful
and filled with good deeds,
so that I may do only good to my neighbors and take upon myself
the more difficult and toilsome tasks.
Help me, that my feet may be merciful,
so that I may hurry to assist my neighbor,
overcoming my own fatigue and weariness.
My true rest is in the service of my neighbor.
Help me, O Lord, that my heart may be merciful
so that I myself may feel all the sufferings of my neighbor.
May Your mercy, O Lord, rest upon me.
Amen.
