My rosary turned to gold while praying on it; I watched the chain links connected to each Hail Mary and Our Father bead change as I moved to that adjacent bead in my prayer. It happened in real-time. This is my testimony of the signal grace I received from The Virgin Mary. It is one of many kinds of signal graces a person devoted to the rosary can be blessed to experience.
Signal graces from Mary come when we least expect them. This is my testimony to a beautiful signal grace during the church lockdowns in 2020. As I prayed my rosary some of the chain links on my favorite rosary beads started turning a brownish color. At first I had confusion and thought my eyes were giving me trouble. But as I finished the rosary I came to see that every link attached to an “Our Father” or a “Hail Mary” prayer on my rosary turned to gold, while all the others had remained stainless steel.
Rosary Turned to Gold on Feast of Our Lady of Fatima
The beads on the right are new and as they looked when bought through the EWTN catalog store. The beads on the left are the set that I have prayed on for several years. The left rosary turned to gold while I was praying a rosary. These EWTN rosary beads are inexpensive painted glass beads and the paint has worn off with constant daily rosary prayers. I have read about other rosaries turning gold. On my rosary, only the links on the Hail Mary prayers and the Our Father prayers turned gold in color.
On a quick search of the internet I discovered a vast amount of skepticism on having a rosary turn to gold miraculously. It disheartened me. Several months after my rosary turned gold the links in the second decade came apart and it needed repair. I prayed on them anyway for 4 days with the broken links. I really didn’t know what to do. During a rosary I had a thought to take them to a local jewelry shop.
Confirmed! My Rosary Chain Had Turned to Gold Plated
After the prayer, later that day I went to the shop. To my amazement they offered to repair it for free and asked me to pray for them. Then the jeweler told me that they were gold plated links. Of course hearing that in fact my rosary chain really turned gold was an amazing confirmation for me.
I did additional research on rosary chains that turned gold plated and discovered that this also happened to author Kenneth E. Nowell. In his experience the jeweler apologized that the rosary chain links were only gold plated. I smiled at that. In my experience with my rosary, it felt like a sprinkling from heaven as I prayed and so the gold plating seemed most likely. Also, the base of each rosary chain turned gold on my beads has a bit of silver near the base. You can see it in the zoom.
Signal Graces are Signs to Grow our Faith
Signal graces? But skeptics across the internet claim a rosary turned to gold is nonsense. They will say the rosary links are just tarnished, and that there is no possible way for such a thing to happen scientifically.
Well, look at my beads. How is it that in my case only some of the rosary links changed to gold and not all of them? And look at my rosary turned to gold up close. The links that changed did so in a distinct pattern. Is that a coincidence too? And look at Mr. Nowell’s links in a close up zoom. The gold plating can be recognized when you look at the part that enters the shaft of the bead. It looks the same as my rosary turned to gold.
Rosary turned to Gold and Signal Graces Give us Hope in God’s Love and Mary’s Intercession
If you doubt that God can touch your life, really think about this miraculous rosary and the pattern of specific rosary links that turned gold-plated. It is a beautiful sign for the world that our prayers matter, and that God listens. It is also a testament to the intercession of Mary, our mother in heaven. If you feel your prayers are not efficacious, I encourage you to learn how to pray with humility and gratitude and seek to know God with all your heart.
God desires the greater good. He is all knowing and loving. If your prayer request is not in line with His holy will, humble yourself and release your heart to Him. Ask Him to give you the desire to do His will and to learn to pray in the Holy Spirit. He will give you the grace to desire His will out of love for Him. This will greatly affect your life and the lives of those who you love and care for. For me, the daily recitation of the rosary for several years has been the key to discovering the beauty of humble prayer to God.
Rosary Turned to Gold is a Beautiful Mystery
The miracle of how my rosary turned to gold is a mystery to me. I cannot say I know how or why my rosary chain turned gold while I was praying it. But I do believe that this rosary miracle was a sign from Our Lady of Fatima. I believe that I must pray more rosaries and pray with more earnestness each and every day. It made me look more deeply into the message of Fatima. Since then I have been trying to learn more about the devotion to Our Lady of Fatima, including the Five Fatima Prayers and the devotion of the Five First Saturdays.
Since my rosary turned to gold I have also begun praying the entire rosary every day and not just 5 mysteries. Signal graces from Mary are a treasured gift for those devoted to the holy rosary. They are gifts that give us faith and hope, especially in troubling times. I am very grateful for this beautiful signal grace as a reminder of how much we are loved and watched over by our heavenly mother. We are brought so much closer to Jesus with each and every one of the signal graces from Mary we receive.
Devotion to Our Lady of Fatima
After my rosary turned to gold I have had a deeper devotion to Our Lady of Fatima. In August of 2020 I was offered the opportunity to join a special devotion to prepare myself for a consecration to the Virgin Mary. And on October 13, 2020, on the anniversary of the Miracle of the Sun, I consecrated myself to the Virgin Mary and promised to do these devotions and become an intercessor for my family, my community, my country, and our world.
I believe that the Virgin Mary’s message at Fatima is vital for Catholics in 2021. We must begin praying the rosary daily. We must also do reparations for the outrages and blasphemies against her Immaculate Heart, and for the conversion of poor souls. The time is now.

The Miracle of the Sun on October 13, 1917
"I saw in a clear area of the sky (where one should not be able to stare at the sun) the very sun. It was like a disc of smoked glass illuminated behind and turning itself over, giving us the impression that it was coming down over our heads. I could then see the sun more easily than I can see the moon on a full moon night. From those hundreds of mouths I heard words of belief and of love to the Blessed Virgin."

I too have experienced the miracle of Our Lady- Pilgrim Virgin of Fatima turning my rosary to gold. So many blessings have come from Her to me- my family- thank you for sharing her love, Blessings, Brooke
Thank you Brooke – Our family was blessed in so many beautiful ways since that day. I have dutifully prayed my rosary daily since this happened. I feel so grateful and so unworthy at the same time. She is a wonderful intercessor. I believe she is speaking to us and urging us to believe and to pray, to have hope, and these miracles give us so much unwavering faith. My rosary recently changed. I have been praying several rosaries a day – I have been going through such sadness and praying the rosary gives me comfort.
I have several rosaries and don’t always use this one and only this one rosary changed. It is an old rosary which belonged to my mother and she passed away many years ago.
The rosary is not tarnished – I know that because a short time ago, it had gotten tangled and I had to untangle it and I remember the chain being a silver color (however, I know that the rosary itself is not silver).
I noticed a couple of weeks ago that the chain is now a gold color as well as the medal of the “miraculous Mary” which is attached to the rosary and Jesus on the crucifix – the crucifix itself is black and the crucified Jesus was a silver tone. There are a couple of other metals on the rosary and they did not change and neither did the center piece of the rosary.
What a blessing…. I have been interested in Medjugorje and understand that people with rosaries who go there have had their rosaries turn to gold. I said to myself – well I won’t be going to Medjugorje – I can’t afford it – and so Mary will have to be here with me to have my rosary change. and a few days later it changed.
I noticed the change one morning. It is beautiful and amazing.
Mary has heard me pray and she is here with me. God in his mercy is helping me and Jesus is with me. All of our faith is real and I wish that everyone would know and believe.
Carol, thank you for such a beautiful testimony. God gives us grace when we least expect it. I also have many rosaries, and only one that turned gold. We also have another thing in common. My rosary turned gold is the only one that has gotten tangled, too. It’s such a beautiful gift from heaven and a testament for us that the next life is far more beautiful and rich and full of the unfathomable love and presence of God. I think about that a lot, especially when praying on these beads.
My Rosary turned from a dull silver/pewter to a shiny gold color a few weeks ago on Thursday July 11th which is the Feast Day of St Benedict, and I am a huge fan of St Benedict. The evening before, my wife and I were sitting out in the back yard and I remember telling her I smelled a very strong fragrance of flowers, possibly roses. I went around to all her flowers and did not smell the fragrance however when I went back to the area we were sitting where no flowers were I could smell the strong flower fragrance again. I told her maybe the Blessed Mother was just visiting us. I was driving home from mowing my elderly parents yard the next day and the Rosary in my pocket was tangled and the crucifix had came apart from the Rosary itself so I used the “spare” small metal Rosary I keep around my mirror in my jeep. When I arrived back home and stepped out of my jeep to disconnect the trailer from my jeep I sat the Rosary in the seat and noticed it had a goldish tint so I picked it up and the entire Rosary was now gold. I showed my wife and she said I remember praying with that Rosay on Sunday when we were driving and it was the normal dull silver color it had always been. It’s probably been in my Jeep for at least 3 years or so. I truly believe the Blessed Mother was sending us a signal grace and letting us know to keep saying the Rosary. I feel truly blessed and honored!!!

Almost 20 years ago I had a rosary turn to gold, but I lost it. It broke my heart to lose it! But on Good Friday Jesus gave me a very special gift. I pray the Chaplet of the Holy Wounds almost daily. Good Friday, as I was praying, I heard a voice say “Look at your rosary.” It was in my hand at the time. I looked at it, specifically the medal that connects the first section to the circlet. On one side is a church. On the other is a Pieta, only in this case Mary is reaching out to the body of Jesus, not holding Him. I saw that Jesus’ torso had turned gold. After I was done praying, I put it on my home altar where I normally keep it. Between Good Friday and Easter Sunday I watched his body turn entirely gold!!!

My rosary chain turned from silver to gold, I pray on this rosary every day. My first thought was all the special favors I have received through my devotion to Blessed Mother, some I believe to be miraculous. I really feel this eye-opening event is telling me how important prayer is and reassures me she and her beautiful Son are with me through this terrible grief from losing my spouse after 50 years of a beautiful marriage. Please make a habit of praying the rosary, not only for your special intentions, but also for the intentions of Jesus and his Mother. My devotion started at a very young age, I am 76 years old. It’s never too late to start!
My rosary first changed color after asking God to change them. I will tell you the story of my first pair changing when I was 15 years old,
I have had many different pairs change over the years. I had heard of rosaries changing color in the 1990s when my family had gone to Lubbock, Texas, for an apparition. I was now going to Conyers, Georgia, to an apparition of the Blessed Mother, and wanted to see if my rosaries would turn color like I had heard. I was the last one out of the house and held my hand high and said out loud to God, If you are there, turn my rosaries gold when I come back, and I put them in the top drawer. I left for the trip and told no one what I did. What I saw at the apparition was the sun spinning and changing color while looking right at it for a long time. When I got home, I ran inside and was the first one in the house, and went right to the drawer, and the rosaries had turned to a copper-like brown, bronze color. I still have them to this day somehow. I am 50 years old now. About three others have changed over my life with some being really gold, like 18k gold and others not so much. I am so glad to read other people’s stories about their rosaries because this is such a mystery to me still, because I still sin so much and just feel not worthy to have had this happen as often as it has in my life.
I got anew rosary and it is starting to turn gold. I have another rosary that turn gold my father rosary turn gold we prayed the rosary everyday. It as to be a sign from Mary . I went to Falmanth Kentucky and they if there is anything you want to ask her ( My request was if I am doing everything right send me or let me see a yellow rose and she as answer my prayers )
