The St. Andrew Novena for Advent is allegedly a 19th-century Irish tradition, although the origins are unknown. This advent novena is prayed from the Feast of St. Andrew the Apostle on November 30 until Christmas Eve.
When the St. Andrew Novena is prayed from the heart 15 times each day, every day, from November 30 to December 24, the pious believe that their petition will be answered by God, according to His holy will.
