What is the Chaplet of the Sacred Heart Prayer?
The Chaplet of the Sacred Heart is a prayer of love for Jesus in the Eucharist. This devotion to His Heart began with Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque.
Jesus taught her that His Sacred Heart is to be cherished and adored. When we take holy Communion we must do so with great love and while discerning His Real Presence, because it is His Heart that He feeds us with. We inflict an incomprehensible amount of pain on the Lord when we do not receive Him worthily, and the Chaplet of the Sacred Heart prayer is a wonderful way to grow our love and gratitude to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
When you receive Jesus in the Eucharist know that He is present in a substantial way. Jesus is the Victim who has veiled Himself and imprisoned Himself in the substance of bread and wine, in obedience to the Father, out of Love for souls until the end of the world. Pray the Sacred Heart Chaplet with love for Christ.
God could have chosen another way to come to us, but He chose to come as one who is meek and humble of heart. He chose to be subject to the abuse and hatred of an ungrateful man, to being dropped on the floor by the careless, to be stolen by the anti-Christic to be blasphemed and abused.
Why did He do this? Why did He subject Himself to such torture from man? He did this knowing that only a few would be saved. Only a few would adore Him, only a few would repent and renew themselves. All the torture in the Garden of Gethsemane, the agony, the blood He sweat, this was for the few who would give Him their fiat.
Give Him your fiat.
The Chaplet of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is an act of love to Jesus, and it will help you remember that Jesus is truly present to you in the holy Eucharist every time you receive Him at Mass.
Jesus wants union with your soul in a most intimate and consuming way. He wants you to possess Him. He wants to create in you a pure vessel where His Most Sacred Heart can live, and when you acquiesce to His divine will for your life and you invite Him in, He will remain in You and fill you with the Holy Spirit. This is what He means when He says without partaking in the Bread of Life you have no life within you.
When you eat His Body, remember you are presenting yourself to the Almighty God and do so with great reverence and with a clean and pure heart.

How to Pray the Chaplet of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on Chaplet Beads
The chaplet to the Sacred Heart of Jesus is typically prayed on a set of chaplet beads with 5 mysteries, some chaplet beads contain 5 beads per mystery and the Sacred Heart Chaplet usually has 6 beads. Concluding Prayer
O Lord, you give your Sacred Heart to humanity in the Mystery of the Altar for the salvation of our souls, may your sacrifice not be made in vain. Hear our prayers, have mercy on us and forgive our sins. We desire to honor you in the Blessed Sacrament, (glorify you in our thoughts, words and actions, and thank and praise you always.) We weep for and detest the impiety and ingratitude of men, call us back to the heart of your Church. I offer you my heart in reparation for sin. (Remove from it what is displeasing to you, dispose it according to your will, and inspire it with sentiments like yours.) Draw us near to your Sacred Heart through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and be our refuge at death, that we may come to praise for all eternity the Divine Love with which your Sacred Heart burns for humanity. I love this prayer. Several years ago I retired from a vocation in nursing. I am a convert to Catholicism at age 40. I became ill with bronchitis at age 67 and was taken to secular Hospital for a couple days. Pastoral care person came to visit me and I requested a Rosary as mine was at home. This person searched for one and it had red beads with decades of 5 beads! I did not know how to pray this Rosary and neither did the pastoral care giver. He brought Holy Communion. Anyway I have kept it for last 5 years and now I know how to pray it thanks to this website! May God Bless you and the Ministry!!!!
