What is Eucharistic adoration? It is worship in front of the real presence of Christ in the Blessed Sacrament. The Blessed Sacrament is the consecrated host of the Body of Christ.

“My heart hath expected reproach and misery: and I looked for one that would grieve together with Me, but there was none: and for one that would comfort Me, and I found none.”

Psalm 68 (69): 21
Eucharistic adoration is the desire and dedication to be ‘the one’ that will sit with the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament and grieve over all the outrages and sacrileges in the world. It’s a place to pray for mercy on sinners. It’s a place to gain hope and peace and grow in love for God. It’s a commitment to love Him and to come to Him. In Eucharistic adoration the adorer dedicates himself to regular visits with the Lord. He makes time in his life to come and worship the Lord. It becomes the rhythm of his life. He comes despite all the sufferings and hardships in his personal life. He comes in good times and bad. He comes in bad weather. He comes when others can’t, to make sure the Lord is not left abandoned in the tabernacle. He stays at least an hour. He stays when he has run out of things to say. He stays when he is alone and no one has come yet to sit the next hour with Jesus.
