Saints are a gift from God that can help us grow in knowledge and understanding about the faith. They also inspire us to live our lives according to the will of God, and they also intercede for us as we strive for final perseverance in this life. If you would like to learn about the mystical saints of the church, particularly those gifted with mystical transverberation, you will find information about a few of them here. Transverberation is a special phenomenon where the heart of a devotee to our suffering Lord is able to feel the pain of His Sacred Heart. There are varying degrees of this charismatic gift from the Holy Spirit. The saints listed here were devoted to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and they also had the desire to suffer their pains of transverberation in reparation for the sins of mankind. Jesus Christ, who no longer suffers for sin in his glorified body, can choose through a particular gift of the Holy Spirit, to bestow a sacred suffering on a saint for the edification of His Kingdom.
The saints featured here, as well as many others, grew in holiness and devotion to our Lord throughout their lives and were given these spiritual gifts in order to become intercessors for lost souls. These saints led contemplative prayer lives and have given the Church many inspiring writings about how to meditate on Christ’s love and His passion.
