Pray the Litany of Obedience to the Will of God to help you overcome habitual sin and selfish tendencies that cause you to disobey God and follow selfish and sinful paths. Pray to do God’s will and receive the grace from God to turn away from sin and obey God. When we begin to strive to do the will of God we are often tempted to fall into old habits.
The Litany of Obedience to the Will of God prayer helps you to acknowledge the Almighty power of God. By reciting this prayer you recognize the right way to see yourself in relation to God and why it is important to follow God’s will in your life.
The first step in Christian discipleship is obedience to God. It is a stumbling block for many, because we like to rationalize and control things in our lives. It’s human nature, and so the best way to overcome pride is to have obedience to God.
Pray daily for the grace of obedience to God. The Lord promises us that he hears the prayers of the righteous and will bless those who ask for special virtues and graces. Obedience to God is a grace and it opens up the virtue of humility, and this virtue alone helps you advance very far in the spiritual life, because God loves a humble contrite heart. Obedience to God and to Church authority is also a virtue that we must pray and ask God to give us.
Let us pray the Litany of Obedience to the Will of God:
