Charity is a theological virtue that lets us love God above all things for His own sake and our neighbor as ourselves for the love of God. We rely on the grace of the Holy Spirit for the virtue of charity, The Catechism emphasizes that charity is the greatest of the theological virtues, and the source and goal of Christian practice. Charity is one of the three theological virtues: faith, hope, and charity. These three virtues are gifts from the Holy Spirit that enable us to live lives pleasing to God.
