Adoration Prayer to Jesus

Pray Adoration Prayer to Jesus as part of your holy hour adoration prayers for mobile phones

a Prayer before the Blessed Sacrament

Lord Jesus Christ, who for love of us remains night and day in this Sacrament full of kindness and love awaiting, inviting and welcoming all who come to visit You, I believe that You are present in the Sacrament of the altar. I adore You from the depth of my own nothingness and I thank You for all the graces which You have granted me.

I thank You especially for having given Yourself to me in this Sacrament; for having given me Your own most holy mother, Mary, for my advocate and for having called me to visit You in this sacred place.

I pay homage this day to Your adorable heart and desire to do so for three ends: firstly, in thanksgiving for this great gift; secondly, to make reparation for all the injuries which You have received in this Sacrament from your enemies; and thirdly, I desire to adore You, through this visit, in all the places on earth where Your sacramental presence is least honored and most neglected.

My Jesus, I love You with my whole heart. I am sorry for having offended Your infinite goodness so many times in the past. I resolve, with the help of Your grace never to offend You any more for the time to come; and at this present moment I consecrate myself completely to You. I give to You withholding nothing, my own will, my inclinations, my desires, everything that is mine. From this day forward, do with me and with what belongs to me as it shall please You. All that I ask and desire is Your holy love, final perseverance, and the perfect fulfillment of Your will.

I commend to You the souls in purgatory, particularly those who were most devoted to the Blessed Sacrament and to Mary, your holy mother. I commend to You, too all poor sinners. And now, dear Savior, I join all my desires with the desires of Your loving heart. I offer them to Your Eternal Father and I beg Him in Your name, and for Your love to accept them and fulfill them.

AMEN.

Anima Christi

SOUL of Christ, sanctify me.
Body of Christ, save me.
Blood of Christ, inebriate me.
Water from the side of Christ, wash me.
Passion of Christ, strengthen me.
O good Jesus, hear me.
Within Thy wounds, hide me.
Separated from Thee let me never be.
From the malignant enemy, defend me.
At the hour of death, call me.
To come to Thee, bid me,
That I may praise Thee in the company
Of Thy Saints, for all eternity.

AMEN.

Begin by Praying:

O sacred banquet in which Christ is received,
the memory of His passion is renewed, the soul is filled with grace, and a pledge of future glory is given us, Alleluia.

On each Our Father bead, pray:

My soul is thirsting for God, the strong and living God; when shall I enter and see the face of God? (Ps 41:3)

On the ten small decade beads, pray:

It is your Eucharistic face, O Lord, that I seek; hide not Your Eucharistic face from me. (Cf. Ps 26:8-9)

At that end of each decade, pray:

Behold, O God our protector, and look upon the face of Your Christ. (Ps 83:10)

Then pray:

Through Him, and with Him, and in Him, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor is Yours, almighty God and Father, forever and ever. AMEN.

Then pray 3 times:

Father, glorify the Eucharistic face of Your Son, that His Eucharistic face may glorify You. (Jn 17:1)

(begin the next decade)

After 5 decades pray Salve Regina

Hail, holy Queen, mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn, then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.

℣.  Pray for us, O holy Mother of God

℟. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Concluding Prayer

Let us pray. Almighty and everlasting God, who by the working of the Holy Spirit didst prepare both body and soul of the glorious virgin mother, Mary, that she might deserve to be made a worthy dwelling for Thy Son, grant that we who rejoice in her memory may, by her loving intercession, be delivered from present evils and from lasting death, through the same Christ our Lord.

AMEN.

Make an examination of your conscience. Reflect on your day or your week, the things you have said, done, or failed to do, since the last time you came into the presence of the Lord. Spend some time in the prayer of silence and gaze at the Lord. When you have finished, pray Lord I am Truly Sorry.

holy hour adoration prayers

Lord I am Truly Sorry

Loving Father, You are the source of all goodness and love, and you never refuse forgiveness to those who come to you with repentant hearts. Mercifully listen to my prayer. Look with kindness upon me and forgive me for all my sins and failures. Give me the grace to acknowledge them before you. Help me to look into my life and see the many ways I have displeased you in my relationship with you, with my loved ones and friends, through the sin of pride, the sin of anger, lust or weakness of the flesh, envy, greed, gluttony and sloth and for all the negative consequences that resulted from them. Forgive me for my inability to be faithful to your commandments. And bless me with humility to repent with a sincere and contrite heart. Give me the strength to fight future temptations to sin and to avoid being exposed to occasions for sin. Give me the patience and perseverance to make amends in my life and be transformed as you will. All these I pray in Jesus’ name through Mary and all the angels and saints. AMEN.

the Sorrowful Mysteries

Apostles Creed

I believe in God,
the Father almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died and was buried;
he descended into hell;
on the third day he rose again from the dead;
he ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty;
from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting.
Amen.

First Sorrowful Mystery

scriptural rosary for the sorrowful mysteries first mystery the agony in the garden
Jesus Agonizes in the Garden of Gethsemane

The cup of the New Covenant, which Jesus anticipated when he offered himself at the Last Supper, is afterwards accepted by him from his Father’s hands in his agony in the garden at Gethsemane, making himself “obedient unto death”. Jesus prays: “My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me. . .” Thus he expresses the horror that death represented for his human nature. Like ours, his human nature is destined for eternal life; but unlike ours, it is perfectly exempt from sin, the cause of death. Above all, his human nature has been assumed by the divine person of the “Author of life”, the “Living One”. By accepting in his human will that the Father’s will be done, he accepts his death as redemptive, for “he himself bore our sins in his body on the tree (CCC 612).

Our Father

℣. Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.

℟. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

And as they reclined at table and were eating, Jesus said, “Amen, I say to you, one of you will betray me, one who is eating with me.”

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

They began to be distressed and to say to him, one by one, “Surely it is not I?” He said to them, “One of the Twelve, the one who dips with me into the dish."

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

Then they came to a place named Gethsemane, and he said to his disciples, “Sit here while I pray.” He took with him Peter, James, and John, and began to be troubled and distressed.

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

Then he said to them, “My soul is sorrowful even to death. Remain here and keep watch.”

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

He advanced a little and fell to the ground and prayed that if it were possible the hour might pass by him; he said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible to you. Take this cup away from me, but not what I will but what you will.”

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

When he returned he found them asleep. He said to Peter, “Simon, are you asleep? Could you not keep watch for one hour? Watch and pray that you may not undergo the test. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.”

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

Withdrawing again, he prayed, saying the same thing. Then he returned once more and found them asleep, for they could not keep their eyes open and did not know what to answer him.

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

He returned a third time and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and taking your rest? It is enough. The hour has come. Behold, the Son of Man is to be handed over to sinners. Get up, let us go. See, my betrayer is at hand.”

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

Then, while he was still speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, arrived, accompanied by a crowd with swords and clubs who had come from the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders.

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

His betrayer had arranged a signal with them, saying, “The man I shall kiss is the one; arrest him and lead him away securely.” He came and immediately went over to him and said, “Rabbi.” And he kissed him. At this they laid hands on him and arrested him.

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

Second Sorrowful Mystery

scriptural rosary for the sorrowful mysteries second mystery the scourging at the pillar
Jesus is Scourged at the Pillar

The Church remains faithful to the interpretation of “all the Scriptures” that Jesus gave both before and after his Passover: “Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer these things and enter into his glory?” Jesus’ sufferings took their historical, concrete form from the fact that he was “rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes”, who handed “him to the Gentiles to be mocked and scourged and crucified” (CCC 572).

Our Father

Amen.

The chief priests and the entire Sanhedrin kept trying to obtain testimony against Jesus in order to put him to death, but they found none. Many gave false witness against him, but their testimony did not agree.

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

The high priest rose before the assembly and questioned Jesus, saying, “Have you no answer? What are these men testifying against you?” But he was silent and answered nothing.

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

Again the high priest asked him and said to him, “Are you the Messiah, the son of the Blessed One?” Then Jesus answered, “I am; and ‘you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of the Power and coming with the clouds of heaven.’”

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

At that the high priest tore his garments and said, “What further need have we of witnesses? You have heard the blasphemy. What do you think?” They all condemned him as deserving to die.

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

Then they spat in his face and struck him, while some slapped him, saying, “Prophesy for us, Messiah: who is it that struck you?”

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

Then the whole assembly of them arose and brought him before Pilate. They brought charges against him, saying, “We found this man misleading our people; he opposes the payment of taxes to Caesar and maintains that he is the Messiah, a king.”

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

Pilate asked him, “Are you the king of the Jews?” He said to him in reply, “You say so.” Pilate then addressed the chief priests and the crowds, “I find this man not guilty.”

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

But they were adamant and said, “He is inciting the people with his teaching throughout all Judea, from Galilee where he began even to here.” On hearing this Pilate asked if the man was a Galilean; and upon learning that he was under Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod who was in Jerusalem at that time.

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

[Herod] questioned him at length, but he gave him no answer. The chief priests and scribes, meanwhile, stood by accusing him harshly. [Even] Herod and his soldiers treated him contemptuously and mocked him, and after clothing him in resplendent garb, he sent him back to Pilate.

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

Pilate then summoned the chief priests, the rulers, and the people and said to them, “You brought this man to me and accused him of inciting the people to revolt. I have conducted my investigation in your presence and have not found this man guilty of the charges you have brought against him, nor did Herod, for he sent him back to us. So no capital crime has been committed by him. Therefore I shall have him flogged and then release him.”

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

Glory Be

All: Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Fatima Prayer

All: Oh My Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of Hell, lead all souls to Heaven, especially those in most need of Thy mercy.

Third Sorrowful Mystery

Jesus is Crowned with Thorns

It is love “to the end” that confers on Christ’s sacrifice its value as redemption and reparation, as atonement and satisfaction. He knew and loved us all when he offered his life. Now “the love of Christ controls us, because we are convinced that one has died for all; therefore all have died.” No man, not even the holiest, was ever able to take on himself the sins of all men and offer himself as a sacrifice for all. The existence in Christ of the divine person of the Son, who at once surpasses and embraces all human persons, and constitutes himself as the Head of all mankind, makes possible his redemptive sacrifice for all (CCC 616).

Our Father

Amen.

The soldiers led him away inside the palace, that is, the praetorium, and assembled the whole cohort.

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

They stripped off his clothes and threw a scarlet military cloak about him.

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

Weaving a crown out of thorns, they placed it on his head, and a reed in his right hand. And kneeling before him, they mocked him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!”

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

And they struck him repeatedly.

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

They spat upon him and took the reed and kept striking him on the head.

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

Once more Pilate went out and said to them, “Look, I am bringing him out to you, so that you may know that I find no guilt in him.”

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

So Jesus came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple cloak. And he said to them, “Behold, the man!”

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

When the chief priests and the guards saw him they cried out, “Crucify him, crucify him!” Pilate said to them, “Take him yourselves and crucify him. I find no guilt in him.” The Jews answered, “We have a law, and according to that law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.” Now when Pilate heard this statement, he became even more afraid,

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

Pilate tried to release him; but the Jews cried out, “If you release him, you are not a Friend of Caesar. Everyone who makes himself a king opposes Caesar.” They cried out, “Take him away, take him away! Crucify him!” Pilate said to them, “Shall I crucify your king?” The chief priests answered, “We have no king but Caesar.”

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

And when they had mocked him, they stripped him of the cloak, dressed him in his own clothes, and led him off to crucify him.

Fourth Sorrowful Mystery

scriptural rosary for the sorrowful mysteries fourth mystery Jesus carries the cross
Jesus Carries His Cross

The Council of Trent emphasizes the unique character of Christ’s sacrifice as “the source of eternal salvation” and teaches that “his most holy Passion on the wood of the cross merited justification for us.” And the Church venerates his cross as she sings: “Hail, O Cross, our only hope.” The cross is the unique sacrifice of Christ, the “one mediator between God and men”. But because in his incarnate divine person he has in some way united himself to every man, “the possibility of being made partners, in a way known to God, in the paschal mystery” is offered to all men. He calls his disciples to “take up [their] cross and follow [him]”, for “Christ also suffered for [us], leaving [us] an example so that [we] should follow in his steps.” In fact Jesus desires to associate with his redeeming sacrifice those who were to be its first beneficiaries. This is achieved supremely in the case of his mother, who was associated more intimately than any other person in the mystery of his redemptive suffering (CCC 617-618).

Our Father

Amen.

[Pilate] went back into the praetorium and said to Jesus, “Where are you from?” Jesus did not answer him.

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

So Pilate said to him, “Do you not speak to me? Do you not know that I have power to release you and I have power to crucify you?” Jesus answered [him], “You would have no power over me if it had not been given to you from above. For this reason the one who handed me over to you has the greater sin.”

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

Now on the occasion of the feast he used to release to them one prisoner whom they requested. A man called Barabbas was then in prison along with the rebels who had committed murder in a rebellion. The crowd came forward and began to ask him to do for them as he was accustomed.

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

Pilate answered, “Do you want me to release to you the king of the Jews?” For he knew that it was out of envy that the chief priests had handed him over. But the chief priests stirred up the crowd to have him release Barabbas for them instead.

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

It was preparation day for Passover, and it was about noon. And he said to the Jews, “Behold, your king!” They cried out, “Take him away, take him away! Crucify him!” Pilate said to them, “Shall I crucify your king?” The chief priests answered, “We have no king but Caesar.” Then he handed him over to them to be crucified.

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

So they took Jesus, and carrying the cross himself he went out to what is called the Place of the Skull, in Hebrew, Golgotha.

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

As they led him away they took hold of a certain Simon, a Cyrenian, who was coming in from the country; and after laying the cross on him, they made him carry it behind Jesus.

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

A large crowd of people followed Jesus, including many women who mourned and lamented him.

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

Jesus turned to them and said, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me; weep instead for yourselves and for your children, for indeed, the days are coming when people will say, ‘Blessed are the barren, the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed.’

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

Pilate also had an inscription written and put on the cross. It read, “Jesus the Nazorean, the King of the Jews.” Now many of the Jews read this inscription, because the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city; and it was written in Hebrew, Latin, and Greek. So the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate, “Do not write ‘The King of the Jews,’ but that he said, ‘I am the King of the Jews.’” Pilate answered, “What I have written, I have written.”

Fifth Sorrowful Mystery

scriptural rosary for the sorrowful mysteries fifth sorrowful mystery Jesus is crucified and dies on the cross the 3 o'clock prayer
Jesus is Crucified and Dies on the Cross

Christ’s death is both the Paschal sacrifice that accomplishes the definitive redemption of men, through “the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world”, and the sacrifice of the New Covenant, which restores man to communion with God by reconciling him to God through the “blood of the covenant, which was poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins”. This sacrifice of Christ is unique; it completes and surpasses all other sacrifices. First, it is a gift from God the Father himself, for the Father handed his Son over to sinners in order to reconcile us with himself. At the same time it is the offering of the Son of God made man, who in freedom and love offered his life to his Father through the Holy Spirit in reparation for our disobedience. “For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by one man’s obedience many will be made righteous.” By his obedience unto death, Jesus accomplished the substitution of the suffering Servant, who “makes himself an offering for sin“, when “he bore the sin of many”, and who “shall make many to be accounted righteous”, for “he shall bear their iniquities”. Jesus atoned for our faults and made satisfaction for our sins to the Father  (CCC 613-615).

Our Father

Amen.

It was nine o’clock in the morning when they crucified him. With him they crucified two revolutionaries, one on his right and one on his left.

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, they know not what they do.”

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

They took his clothes and divided them into four shares, a share for each soldier. They also took his tunic, but the tunic was seamless, woven in one piece from the top down. So they said to one another, “Let’s not tear it, but cast lots for it to see whose it will be,” in order that the passage of scripture might be fulfilled [that says]: “They divided my garments among them, and for my vesture they cast lots.” This is what the soldiers did.

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

Now one of the criminals hanging there reviled Jesus, saying, “Are you not the Messiah? Save yourself and us.” The other, however, rebuking him, said in reply, “Have you no fear of God, for you are subject to the same condemnation? And indeed, we have been condemned justly, for the sentence we received corresponds to our crimes, but this man has done nothing criminal.” Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” He replied to him, “Amen, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.”

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

Standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary of Magdala. When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son.” Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother.” And from that hour the disciple took her into his home.

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

Those passing by reviled him, shaking their heads and saying, “Aha! You who would destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save yourself by coming down from the cross.” Likewise the chief priests, with the scribes, mocked him among themselves and said, “He saved others; he cannot save himself. Let the Messiah, the King of Israel, come down now from the cross that we may see and believe.”

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

From noon onward, darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon [because of an eclipse of the sun]. And about three o’clock Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” which means, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

After this, aware that everything was now finished, in order that the scripture might be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I thirst.” There was a vessel filled with common wine. So they put a sponge soaked in wine on a sprig of hyssop and put it up to his mouth.

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commend my spirit”; and when he had said this he breathed his last. The centurion who witnessed what had happened glorified God and said, “This man was innocent beyond doubt.”

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

But Jesus cried out again in a loud voice, and gave up his spirit. And behold, the veil of the sanctuary was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth quaked, rocks were split, tombs were opened, and the bodies of many saints who had fallen asleep were raised. And coming forth from their tombs after his resurrection, they entered the holy city and appeared to many. The centurion and the men with him who were keeping watch over Jesus feared greatly when they saw the earthquake and all that was happening, and they said, “Truly, this was the Son of God!”

℣. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

℟. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

Turn then, most gracious advocate,

The Divine Mercy Prayer
for All Mankind, Especially Sinners

meditation on the Divine Mercy in the adoration chapel letting go of control and giving God control in your life
Opening Prayer for all Mankind, Especially Sinners

Jesus said: “Today bring to me ALL MANKIND, ESPECIALLY SINNERS, and immerse them in the ocean of my mercy. In this way you will console me in the bitter grief into which the loss of souls plunges me.”

Most merciful Jesus, whose very nature it is to have compassion on us to forgive us, do not look upon our sins, but upon our trust which we place in Your infinite goodness. Receive us all into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart, and never let us escape from it. We beg this of You by Your love which unites You to the Father and the Holy Spirit.

Eternal Father, turn Your Merciful gaze upon all mankind and especially upon poor sinners, all enfolded in the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. For the sake of His Sorrowful Passion show us Your Mercy, that we may praise the infinite power of Your Mercy, forever and forever. Amen.”

O Jesus, eternal Truth, our Life,

I call upon You and I beg Your mercy for poor sinners. O sweetest Heart of my Lord, full of pity and unfathomable mercy, I plead with You for poor sinners. O Most Sacred Heart, Fount of Mercy from which gush forth rays of inconceivable graces upon the entire human race, I beg of You light for poor sinners.

O Jesus, be mindful of Your own bitter Passion and do not permit the loss of souls redeemed at so dear a price of Your most precious Blood.

O Jesus, when I consider the great price of Your Blood, I rejoice at its immensity, for one drop alone would have been enough for the salvation of all sinners. Although sin is an abyss of wickedness and ingratitude, the price paid for us can never be equaled. Therefore, let every soul trust in the Passion of the Lord, and place its hope in His mercy.

God will not deny His mercy to anyone. Heaven and earth may change, but God’s mercy will never be exhausted. Oh, what immense joy burns in my heart when I contemplate Your incomprehensible goodness, O Jesus! I desire to bring all sinners to Your feet that they may glorify Your mercy throughout endless ages.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

You are Christ

a prayer by St. Augustine of Hippo

You are Christ, my Holy Father, my Tender God, my Great King, my Good Shepherd, my Only Master, my Best Helper, my Most Beautiful and my Beloved, my Living Bread, my Priest Forever, my Leader to my Country, my True Light, my Holy Sweetness, my Straight Way, my Excellent Wisdom, my Pure Simplicity, my Peaceful Harmony, my Entire Protection, my Good Portion, my Everlasting Salvation.

Christ Jesus, Sweet Lord, why have I ever loved, why in my whole life have I ever desired anything except You, Jesus my God? Where was I when I was not in spirit with You?

Now, from this time forth, do you, all my desires, grow hot, and flow out upon the Lord Jesus: run… you have been tardy until now; hasten where you are going; seek Whom you are seeking. O, Jesus may he who loves You not be an anathema; may he who loves You not be filled with bitterness.

O, Sweet Jesus, may every good feeling that is fitted for Your praise, love You, delight in You, adore You! God of my heart, and my Portion, Christ Jesus, may my heart faint away in spirit, and may You be my Life within me!

May the live coal of Your Love grow hot within my spirit and break forth into a perfect fire; may it burn incessantly on the altar of my heart; may it glow in my innermost being; may it blaze in hidden recesses of my soul; and in the days of my consummation may I be found consummated with You!

Amen.

Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel (Long)

holy hour adoration prayers long version st michael the archangel prayer

O Glorious Prince of the heavenly host, St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in the battle and in the terrible warfare that we are waging against the principalities and powers, against the rulers of this world of darkness, against the evil spirits. Come to the aid of man, whom Almighty God created immortal, made in His own image and likeness, and redeemed at a great price from the tyranny of Satan.

Fight this day the battle of the Lord, together with the holy angels, as already thou hast fought the leader of the proud angels, Lucifer, and his apostate host, who were powerless to resist thee, nor was there place for them any longer in Heaven. That cruel, ancient serpent, who is called the devil or Satan who seduces the whole world, was cast into the abyss with his angels. Behold, this primeval enemy and slayer of men has taken courage. Transformed into an angel of light, he wanders about with all the multitude of wicked spirits, invading the earth in order to blot out the name of God and of His Christ, to seize upon, slay and cast into eternal perdition souls destined for the crown of eternal glory. This wicked dragon pours out, as a most impure flood, the venom of his malice on men of depraved mind and corrupt heart, the spirit of lying, of impiety, of blasphemy, and the pestilent breath of impurity, and of every vice and iniquity.

These most crafty enemies have filled and inebriated with gall and bitterness the Church, the spouse of the immaculate Lamb, and have laid impious hands on her most sacred possessions. In the Holy Place itself, where the See of Holy Peter and the Chair of Truth has been set up as the light of the world, they have raised the throne of their abominable impiety, with the iniquitous design that when the Pastor has been struck, the sheep may be scattered.

Arise then, O invincible Prince, bring help against the attacks of the lost spirits to the people of God, and give them the victory. They venerate thee as their protector and patron; in thee holy Church glories as her defense against the malicious power of hell; to thee has God entrusted the souls of men to be established in heavenly beatitude. Oh, pray to the God of peace that He may put Satan under our feet, so far conquered that he may no longer be able to hold men in captivity and harm the Church. Offer our prayers in the sight of the Most High, so that they may quickly find mercy in the sight of the Lord; and vanquishing the dragon, the ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, do thou again make him captive in the abyss, that he may no longer seduce the nations.

Amen.

℣. Behold the Cross of the Lord; be scattered ye hostile powers.
℟. The Lion of the tribe of Judah has conquered, the root of David.
℣. Let Thy mercies be upon us, O Lord.
℟. As we have hoped in Thee.
℣. O Lord, hear my prayer.
℟. And let my cry come unto Thee.

℣. Let us pray.

All: O God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, we call upon Thy holy Name, and as supplicants, we implore Thy clemency, that by the intercession of Mary, ever Virgin Immaculate and our Mother, and of the glorious St. Michael the Archangel, Thou wouldst deign to help us against Satan and all the other unclean spirits who wander about the world for the injury of the human race and the ruin of souls.

Amen.

To Thee, O God, we praise Thee;  To Thee, Lord, we recognize Thee. To Thee, Eternal Father, all creation venerates Thee.

All the Angels, the Heavens, and all the Powers honor Thee. The Cherubim and Seraphim sing to Thee without ceasing: Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord God of the Universe.

The Heavens and the earth are full of the Majesty of Thy glory. The glorious choir of the Apostles exalt Thee.
The admirable multitude of the Prophets exalt Thee. The white-robed army of the Martyrs exalt Thee.

To Thee the Holy Church extending throughout the entire earth, proclaims Thee as: Father of Immense Majesty;
Only and true Son, worthy of adoration, Holy Paraclete Spirit.

Thou art the King of Glory, Christ.
Thou art the only Son of the Father. Thou, to liberate mankind, accepted the human condition without rejecting the womb of the Virgin.

Thou, breaking the chains of death, opened to believers the Kingdom of Heaven. Thou art seated at the right hand of God in the glory of the Father.

We believe that one day Thou shalt come as Judge. We therefore plead that Thou come to assist Your servants, whom Thou hast redeemed with Your Precious Blood. Make it so that in eternal glory we become associated with Thy Saints.

Save Thine people, Lord, and bless Thine heritage. Be their Pastor and eternally exalt them. Day after day we bless Thee. And we praise Thy Name forever, for the eternity of eternities. Vouchsafe, Lord, in this day to guard us from sin.

Have pity for us, Lord, have pity for us. May Thy mercy, Lord, come over us, as we hope from Thee. In Thee, Lord, I have confided; do not let me be disappointed.

℣.  Blessed be, Lord, God of our fathers.
℟.  And worthy of praise, glorious forever.
℣.  Let us bless the Father and the Son with the Holy Spirit.
℟.  Let us praise and exalt Them above all things forever.
℣.  Blessed be the Lord in the highest Heaven.
℟.  And worthy of praise, glorious and exalted forever.
℣.  Bless, my soul, my Lord.
℟.  And never forget His many benefits.
℣.  Lord, listen to my prayer.
℟.  And may my cry reach You.
℣.  The Lord be with all of thee.
℟.  And with thy spirit.
℣. Let us pray

All: O GOD, whose mercy is infinite and goodness inexhaustible, we give thanks to Thy Divine Majesty, for the goodness we have received, imploring always Thy clemency so that, not abandoning those to whom Thou does grant what they ask for, Thou dispose them to receive the eternal recompenses.

O GOD, who has instructed the hearts of the faithful with the light of the Holy Spirit, grant by that same Spirit to know the correct ways and to always rejoice from Thine divine consolations.

O GOD, do not permit those who await in Thee, to be afflicted excessively, but instead deign Thou piously attend to our supplications: we give Thee thanks for having accepted our petitions and prayers, supplicating most piously that we deserve to see us free from all adversity.

Through our Lord Jesus Christ Thy Son, who liveth and reigneth with Thee in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God for ever and ever.

Amen.
