Opening Prayer
Lord Jesus Christ,
I believe you are truly here and present to me right now. I believe in Your Real Presence in the Eucharist and that you love me with infinite love. I know I am not worthy that You should bless me or have mercy on me, but I recognize that You love me and are merciful and forgiving. I have come here with gratitude for every blessing You have given me and to thank You for your love and mercy. Please send me Your Spirit so that I can worship You properly right now, with love in my heart for you, and without distraction. Help me to separate myself from all worldly attachments and spend these 15 minutes before the Blessed Sacrament with my heart and mind completely fixated on You. Jesus, look at me with the eyes of a merciful teacher and have pity on me. You know all my weaknesses and that I can’t elevate my heart or my mind without Your help. Please give me the grace right now to pray my mental prayer well and to love You in a way that is pleasing to You. I want to grow to love You more perfectly and merit to see You one day, face to Face. Thank You, Lord, for the grace to love You more, and for giving me the desire to help the souls You have brought into my life and asked me to love.

15 Minutes before the Blessed Sacrament
Rivers of Living Water
John 7:37-39
On the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood up and exclaimed, “Let anyone who thirsts come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as scripture says: ‘Rivers of living water will flow from within him.’”
He said this in reference to the Spirit that those who came to believe in him were to receive.
Let us meditate on what Jesus means when He says, “Rivers of living water will flow from within him.” Have you ever experienced rivers of living water flowing within you? In what way does this promise from Jesus captivate your heart? Take a moment to ask Jesus a question from your heart right now.
Let us continue our 15 minutes before the Blessed Sacrament with a meditation from Saint Alphonsus Liguori.
Love Is a Fountain That Satisfies By St. Alphonsus Liguori
LOVE is also called ‘a living fountain, fire, and charity. Our blessed Redeemer said to the Samaritan woman: ‘He that shall drink of the water that I will give him, shall not thirst forever (John 4:13). Love is the water which satisfies our thirst; he who loves God really with his whole heart neither seeks nor desires anything else because in God he finds every good.
Therefore, satisfied with God, he often joyfully exclaims, ‘My God and my all! My God, thou art my whole good.’
But the Almighty complains that many souls go about seeking fleeting and miserable pleasures from creatures and leave him, who is the infinite good and fountain of all joy: ‘They have forsaken me, the fountain of living water, and have dug to themselves cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water’ (Jer. 2:13).
Therefore God, who loves us and desires to see us happy, cries out and makes known to all: ‘If any man thirst, let him come to me, and drink’ (John 7:37). He who desires to be happy, let him come to me; and I will give him the Holy Spirit, who will make him blessed both in this life and the next. ‘He that believeth in me (He goes on to say), ‘as the scripture saith, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water (John 7:38).
He, therefore, who believes in Jesus Christ and loves him shall be enriched with so much grace that from his heart (the heart, that is the will, is the belly of the soul) shall flow many fountains of holy virtues, which shall not only serve to preserve his own life, but also to give life to others.
And this water is the Holy Spirit, the substantial love which Jesus Christ promised to send us from heaven after his ascension: ‘Now this he said of the Spirit which they should receive, who believed in him: for as yet the Spirit was not given, because Jesus was not yet glorified’ (John 7:39).
The key which opens the channels of this blessed water is holy prayer, which obtains every good for us in virtue of the promise, ‘Ask, and you shall receive.’
We are blind, poor, and weak; but prayer obtains for us light, strength, and abundance of grace.
Theodoret of Cyrus said: ‘Prayer, though but one, can do all things. He who prays receives all he wants. God desires to give us his graces, but he makes us pray for them.’
O Mary, Mother of perseverance, pray for me.
Contemplate Jesus as the source of this fountain of living water, this eternal Love of the Spirit that the Lord desires to give you right now. Think about this beautiful gift of the Spirit that St. Alphonsus teaches comes when we humbly ask for it. Take a moment right now to ask Jesus, from your heart, for this fountain of love to fill your heart.
Next, let us meditate for a moment on the words of Psalm 36. Listen to the prayer of David. Reread this Psalm a second time, praying the words from your own heart. Then take a moment to speak to Jesus. What do you want to tell Him?
15 minutes Before The Blessed Sacrament Contemplating The Mercy of God
Psalm 36:8-11
How precious is your mercy, O God! The children of Adam take refuge in the shadow of your wings. They feast on the rich food of your house; from your delightful stream, you give them drink. For with you is the fountain of life, and in your light we see light. Show mercy on those who know you, your just defense to the upright of heart.
Contemplate Jesus as your rich food. How does He give you drink? How is His Spirit a fountain of life that wells up in your heart and gives you the light of truth?
Ask the Lord to speak to your heart right now about a particular situation. Imagine yourself in His presence. Picture Him offering you His Body and Blood in the Last Supper. See Him gazing into your eyes as He raises the bread and speaks to you, “This is My Body which will be given up for you.”
Contemplate the Lord’s merciful love for you and take 1-3 minutes to listen for His response to your heartfelt prayer.
Closing Prayer before the Blessed Sacrament by St. Alphonsus Liguori
Lord, give me this water. Yes, Lord Jesus, I will say to You like the Samaritan woman: give me this water of divine love that I may turn away from this world and live only for You Who are so lovely. ‘Water that which is dry. My soul is like a dry land where nothing but the briars and thorns of sin grow. Ah! give me, before I pass out of this world, an outpouring of divine grace to make my soul fruitful in works worthy of Your heavenly glory.
O Fountain of living water, O supreme Good, too often have I left You for the corrupt waters of this earth which have deprived me of Your love. Why did not death overtake me before I offended You?
In the future, I will seek nothing but You, O my God. Assist me and grant that I may be faithful to You.
Mary, my hope, keep me ever under Your protection.
