Our prayers for priests and for vocations are very efficacious. The following prayers are a collection from various sources that can be prayed while doing a holy hour for priests in Eucharistic adoration in the adoration chapel. It is our priest who brings us the the Sacraments, especially the Holy Eucharist, without which we cannot get to heaven. We need to pray for them to protect them from temptation and to strengthen them in their vocations. We also must pray for new vocations to the priesthood.

Pray these prayers in adoration when you pray for priests. They need our prayers now more than ever. Our prayer helps protect our priests and gives them the grace needed for their vocation.

As St. Pius X said, “Christ himself, the model of priests, taught first by the example of his deeds and then by his words: Jesus began to do and then to teach. Likewise, a priest who neglects his own sanctification can never be the salt of the earth; what is corrupt and contaminated is utterly incapable of preserving from corruption; where sanctity is lacking, there corruption will inevitably find its way.”

Begin a weekly devotion to intercede for priest during your holy hour of adoration. Make a habit of praying daily for your priests.
